PubLedgeDentacor — Hygienist + AI Concurrence Diagnosis
Licensed Utah dental hygienists employed by Dentacor may diagnose periodontal disease, complete edentulism, and complete anodontia using an AI-assisted radiograph diagnostic tool in place of general dentist supervision. Diagnosis requires concurrence of both the hygienist and the AI system, and is limited to the procedures authorized under the companion permission (scaling and root planing; fitting of full dentures).
What Counts
- Hygienist holds a valid Utah license under §58-69-301(2)(b)
- AI-assisted radiograph diagnostic tool reviews the radiograph
- Both the hygienist and the AI system concur on the diagnosis
- Diagnosis limited to the three named conditions
- Diagnosis occurs only in connection with the authorized procedures
What Does Not Count
- Diagnosis by AI alone without hygienist concurrence
- Diagnosis by hygienist alone without AI concurrence
- Diagnoses of conditions beyond the three named
- Use of the tool outside the Utah demonstration period
