AI-Authorized Prescription Renewal (Utah Pilot)
During the mitigation period, a participant may use its AI technology to authorize the renewal of a verified prescription for a Utah resident and issue such prescriptions to a pharmacist licensed under Utah Code §58-17b. Mitigation applies solely to the renewal workflow described in the Proposal; it does not extend to new prescriptions, other services, or products outside the authorized scope.
What Counts
- Verified existing prescription for a Utah resident
- AI technology authorizes renewal following the processes in the participant's Proposal
- Prescription issued to a pharmacist licensed under §58-17b
- Renewal within the on-formulary medication scope (where applicable under the agreement)
What Does Not Count
- First-time prescriptions or new therapeutic orders
- Prescriptions to non-Utah residents
- Medications outside the approved formulary
- Services other than renewal offered on the participant's website or platform
